Running to Friend’s Series!

In the past year I’ve gotten really into running. Well, I shouldn’t call it running. I’ll call it jogging. I’m a short person with short legs and a short stride so I jog. Nonetheless it’s crazy to see how much I (almost) enjoy running now. I’ve done 5k’s, 10k’s, completed my first half marathon in Kona, Hawaii (Watch it here!: http://bit.ly/pZHMej) and am training for the LA Rock and Roll Half Marathon on October 30th.
All that being said running can become very boring. You can only listen to songs so many times (I think I have listened to ‘Bottoms Up’ an upward of 56 times), think about where you want to be in 5 years and get lost in your head for so long. You have to do things to change it up. So, after running to my boyfriend’s house one day early this month I decided to make it a regular thing.
Hence the start of my ‘Running to Friend’s Series.” I compare it to the popular game ‘Words With Friends’..only it doesn’t take place on my phone and it’s not competitive and it requires my friends to actually do a lot more than play a word.
So here is how it works. I have a list of 15 friends right now ( I know, I don’t have that many friends). They live anywhere from 3.6 to 16.3 miles from me. Randomly throughout the next few months I run to their houses either before work or on the weekend (They drive me to work or back home, duh). Each time I run to someone’s house I’ll document it here. You will see a picture of them and maybe, if I feel like stopping, a picture of something I saw on my run.
This whole thing may not be interesting for you, but it’s a great way for me to remember where I went, the things I saw and what I accomplished. I’ve already ran to three friend’s houses so I’ll do a short post to recap those eventually. Today was my first official one that I took pictures of….I’ll post it soon!
